packing Etsy orders is fun and satisfying! :-)

I am trying my best with my sticker business on Etsy, currently I’m mainly selling stickers and art prints, but I sold some plushies before that I made...in the past...though I hope to make more handmade plushies soon, and list them in the future as well!

Recent orders have been packed 👍 yay! (I am sharing some photos, but I painted over parts like names and addresses for privacy reasons of course)

It’s actually kind of fun to make the package nice, and add some freebies and a friendly note, which is part of the process I guess :-)

 I add around 2 random stickers as freebies with my Etsy orders, because why not :-D it’s a nice thing to do and helps people be more interested in my art, and my Etsy, plus I like adding an extra sticker or two because  it’s like them getting a tiny slice of my life, and art things I like 🎵

sewing updates!

 Hiya! Here are some basic updates on what I’ve been doing recently if you’re interested? 🐶🍓 :-)

I have new drawings I guess? Also the image above is a recent drawing too (chubby Asuka and Rei! A cute concept, I wanted to try…!)

I started watching Neon Genesis Evangelion and I think it’s my favorite anime after Soul Eater nowadays! If you know me on instagram (usagi_kid is me) I’m a really big Soul Eater nerd and Death the Kid enthusiast. :-D I think my favorite in Neon Genesis (NGE? Is the short name? Haha) is Asuka, definitely Asuka.  She’s so relatable to me, I love fiery redhead characters…❤️ I want her to be happy too… :,)

Um. I also might have a small crush on her. Yes i don’t care if she’s a girl I like both girls and guys and I’m a girl :-) but idk if I like girls or guys more? But sexuality is a confusing thing for me man haha :,)

So I’ve gotten really into sewing again !! that’s why the title of the post is called “sewing updates” but I guess it’s more sewing and  art updates because I like doing both…!

Also I’ve been trying to do stop motion animation a lot more. It’s becoming a high area of interest for me. :-)

Here are the stop motion projects I’m trying to do!

The bunny girl— supposed to be Kyandi but I made a slightly different version of her where she’s a rabbit— She’s pretty able to stand, sit, bend her legs and straighten them well, her arms are not fully sewn on yet but she’s pretty soft and versatile.  Her inner skeleton is made from pretty thick wire so she can move around freely, mostly anyway, with some improvements to be made in the future! 

The other one is an attempt of making Kyandi out of foam and wire instead of fabric and wire, the first one with foam was actually for a class. :-)

Here is a short I made, with her, the one I’m most satisfied with in terms of movement…!

Instructions for Jelly’s shirt

 

Material list

• Mildly stretchy / regular cotton fabric (for shirt making)

• Pattern (if you can’t find the pattern on Google Drive, 

  search online “YOSD shirt pattern” and it should come up)

• Velcro (or plastic snaps/buttons) so you can close the shirt

• Embroidery patches (for deco)

• Iron on fabric transfer sheets (in case you 

  want to put a bigger image on the shirt) 

  (you’ll have to print the image on the iron on fabric 

  transfer sheets, not regular paper! You can also use 

  fabric paper meant for the printer, but iron on fabric 

  transfer sheets gives a cleaner result,

  without the stitching lines…)

• Sewing machine or needle and thread for hand sewing

• Pins, thread

• Other notions? (if you forgot anything?)

General sewing Instructions 

1. Print out the pattern from Google Drive (the shirt pattern for 

   YOSD/littlefee) on plain paper (scale as needed)

2. Cut the pattern out, leaving seam allowance

3. Pin the pattern to the fabric and cut out each piece of the pattern

4. Start by sewing the first sleeve to the first side of the shirt (lining up)

5. Repeat by sewing the second sleeve to the second side of the shirt

6. Notice: The front of the shirt is one solid piece. 

   The back of the shirt are two pieces that line up together. 

   (velcro will open and close shirt)

7. Notice: the opening where the neck goes through should 

   line up with the sleeves and each side of the shirt

notes about Capsule Pets!

capsule pets is an in-progress plushies series I'm making :-) 

different animals/pets will be added, and the similar theme is 

that they have a "capsule" shape on their bellies. it will be made 

from transparent fabric or a transparent object, so you can 

see through the capsule, and inside will be filled 

with all sorts of cute things. ^o^

 

stuff you could put inside a capsule pet:

1. pom poms

2. glitter

3. tiny toys or miniatures

4.  clay charms you've made

5. chunky glitter shapes

the reason why i'm making these is because i was recently inspired by 

Webkinz, and i like the theme of having a story/online counterpart to 

a plushie. the whole "capsule" idea was a little random, though, i think 

i'm just really into cute things like that and i've seen other 

plushies or toys-- especially retro ones-- with that aspect of having 

some sort of filling or transparent shape in their design.

(don't worry, the shoes arent from dollskill. they're actually an off-brand pair from a random website- i think it was either mercari or aliexpress.  they were a secondhand pair, and the brand was labeled something else. i dont really support dollskill because they're apparently somewhat racist and steal art from other sources...and generally dont have a good mindset/values... also i dont buy any of my clothes from that site, it was the just the shoes that they had a similar pair on their website.  but i still didnt buy it directly from their website! so it's all good) :-)
