hi friends! today i'm going to talk about my main story, Little Dreamer Kyandi!
:-)
in terms of media presentation: if it's going to be a comic book series-- or an series of animated short films-- is still something i'm working out. i like to think i am more comfortable working with animation, but i am still doing comics a lot of the time, so i dunno. right now i'm thinking it's probably going to be a comic book first, then a series of animated shorts if i get better at animation. (i can animate-- to an extent! i'm still learning of course!) (you can find some animation tests and other projects on my youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCG8KOxFD6iWb4M2kPcrWDQQ)
it's about a girl named Kyandi who has weird dreams when she goes to bed at night, where she is transported to another world called Unity. it's about her life growing up and dealing with challenges, and how Unity and the magical dream world helps her cope with her depression.
if i were to put a genre for Little Dreamer Kyandi, it would be:
- escapism
- fantasy
- slice of life
themes presented in Little Dreamer Kyandi:
- sad themes
- coping with mental illness
- escape from reality
- peaceful days
- romance, LGBTQ+ romance included
- daily life of the characters
- bittersweet
- overall hopeful, somewhat optimistic morals/messages while still keeping it real
first of all, here are some drawings of Kyandi! (i have done over the years!)
way back in early 2000's (can't remember exactly):
nowadays:
i have made many characters so far. some of which i don't even have names for yet...!
all characters in Little Dreamer Kyandi i can remember to date:
- Alice Heartfelt
- Aka Yamashita
- RimRim
- Jade
- Lunaris (alt Jade)
- Momo / Jelly Heart
- Dark Sorceress
- Inky the rabbit
- Mio
here are some drawings i did today and notes i made about the creatures in Unity
ok, so..my brain hurts today so i can't write much else.
this story is in the writing stage, i am still writing the outline for it! but i am also drawing all sorts of drawings for it as well. my goal is to make this a finished comic at some point.
thanks for reading!
